This Beginners’ Workshop will introduce participants to action methods they can use with clients. Concepts and Structures to be demonstrated will focus on the five basic elements of psychodrama. J.L. Moreno’s Canon of Creativity will be introduced and demonstrated in action.

Students will receive a Certificate of Attendance for 6.5 hours.

There will be a 75-minute break for lunch. Attendees are encouraged to pack a bag lunch or think about lunch plans before arriving to enable the prompt start of the afternoon session.

Basics of Psychodrama will also be offered in Mar, July, Sept, and Nov in 2019.

Workshop Goals
1. Build and strengthen professional relationships among attendees and trainers.
2. Facilitate personal and professional growth of attendees and trainers using psychodramatic and sociometric concepts and methods.
3. Provide a range of experiences, including fun, in a safe setting.

Objectives:
Upon Completion of this Workshop, Participants will be able to:
1. name and define the 5 basic 5 elements of psychodrama (director, auxiliaries, audience, stage; protagonist).
2. recognize the 3 parts of a psychodrama session (warm-up, action, and integration).
3. Recognize a drawing of Moreno’s model of the Canon of Creativity.
4. Label the components of the model (e.g. Warm-Up, Spontaneity, Creativity, Cultural Conserve).
5. Explain, in action, one Cultural Conserve you warmed up to Creatively change.
6. Discuss how anxiety impacts Spontaneity and how Spontaneity sparks Creativity.
7. Plan one Application of Action Methods to help someone warm up to changing a Conserve.

Faculty:
Dr. Marlo Archer, CP, TEP, is a co-founder of the Arizona Psychodrama Institute, a licensed psychologist, a Trainer, Educator, Practitioner (TEP) in psychodrama, a Fellow of the ASGPP and their 2013 recipient of the Zerka T. Moreno Award.

Grayce Gusmano, CP, PAT, is a Marriage & Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Psychodramatist, and a Practitioner Applicant for Trainer. She has unique work experience seeing clients privately as well as working with a team of colleagues to provide intensive outpatient services to clients from all over the country. She strives to provide therapists and individuals interested in experiential methods opportunities to learn about themselves and those they work with, in action.
