This Beginners’ Workshop will introduce participants to action methods they can use with clients. Concepts and Structures to be demonstrated may include,and are not limited to: Basic 5 Elements (Director, Auxiliaries, Audience, Stage & Protagonist), Warm-Up, Full Psychodramas, and Sharing.

Students will receive 6.5 hours of Continuing Education for attendance. Marlo Archer is an approved provider for the following professional organizations:

The National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors
The National Board of Certified Counselors

There will be a 90-minute break for lunch. Attendees are encouraged to pack a bag lunch or think about lunch plans before arriving to enable the prompt start of the afternoon session.

Workshop Goals
1. Satisfy requirements for continuing education for mental health professionals practicing in Arizona.
2. Build and strengthen professional relationships among attendees and trainers.
3. Facilitate personal and professional growth of attendees and trainers using psychodramatic and sociometric concepts and methods.
4. Provide a range of experiences, including fun, in a safe setting.

Objectives:
Upon Completion of this Workshop, Participants will be able to:
1. name and define the 5 basic 5 elements of psychodrama (director, auxiliaries, audience, stage & protagonist).
2. recognize the 3 parts of a psychodrama session (warm-up, action, and integration).
3. explain surplus reality and it’s use in a psychodrama session.
4. demonstrate scene setting, concretization, and maximization.

Faculty:
Dr. Marlo Archer, CP, PAT, is a co-founder of the Arizona Psychodrama Institute, a licensed psychologist, a Practitioner Applicant for Trainer in psychodrama, and the 2013 recipient of the ASGPP Zerka T. Moreno Award. Psychodrama students may receive up to 160 of their training hours from a PAT. Marlo Archer is an approved provider for NAADAC & NBCC.
